This eccentric shaft is a precision engineered component with years of development put into it. It is currently used in the fastest 13B drag race and road race engines in the world. Amongst its benefits are its overall strength which comes from the specialised material used, along with various processes which include stress relieving, shot peening and heat-treatment. The machine work to craft this eccentric shaft is done on the latest start-of-the-art CNC equipment ensuring extremely high accuracy. 

The shafts are approximately 1.5kg lighter than any production eccentric shaft available which greatly reduces the rotating mass. This is highly beneficial in high revving PP and BP road/race engines. The unique two-piece design allows the use of the centre needle roller bearing which is mounted in the centre plate where oil is fed from inside of the shaft and no external oil supply is necessary. This method increases the bearing support loading by 35% and distributes the bearing loading across all three plates which results in greatly reducing the possibility of cracking in high output drag racing engines. Stationary gear distortion is also minimised as the crank will not flex in the centre under high load or RPM.  Seal and rotor clearances can be set tighter which in turn increases hp and reliability as the rotor will not move around when the shaft and gears flex. 

All engines must be balanced by X-Treme Rotaries or a recommended workshop as the amount of offset material that is removed (from where the centre bearing is located) changes the balancing factors. This policy also includes machining of the centre bearing into the centre plate.

These 13B X-Treme Rotaries shafts utilise a 20B style front nut, 2mm oil jets, front and rear keyways, centre bearing assembly, needle roller bearing and circlips.  All shafts are REM isotropic finished on all bearing journals for a mirror finish. Custom bearing finish diameters are available on order of the shafts.

**Note**
Rotating assembly must be properly balanced and assembly must be done by an experienced rotary engine builder.
